Rhythms of Praises is a collection of hymns and other worship music texts which move from Eastertide 2001 to Eastertide 2007. With one exception, all the texts were written in that period and are part of Brumm’s “evolution” from being “primarily . . . a pastor who wrote hymns” to “a hymn writer.” The “rhythms” to which the title refers are the author’s own and, by extension, are every believer’s. These are rhythms we each seek among our various life roles between our earthly lives and our communion with God. Notes on the hymns, where the author discusses poetic and theological choices, as well as inspirations, are included. |
Decker, Pamela (b. 1955)
