True to its name, this book has helped me discover many basic concepts of music and keyboard playing. I like the way in which is it organized. The level of detail is just right--not too much, yet sufficient for the student to understand the concept and apply it on the keyboard right away with ease. The subtle repetition of some subjects but with a different twist also helps reinforce important concepts that might otherwise be forgotten. I even liked the writing exercises at the end of each unit or chapter.

Before trying this one, I had used other so-called method books, but they were designed for more advanced students and had hardly any explanation of basic music concepts. This one, on the other hand, has a combination of content and lesson flow that teaches basic music and keyboard concepts at the right pace. A very effective method. I highly recommend it.
