    David Traugott Nicolai (1733-1799)

    Nicolai succeeded his father, a student of J.S. Bach and Christian Ludwig Boxberg, as organist in the St. Peter- und Pauls-Kirch in Görlitz, Germany. Many honors were bestowed on him including the title of Court Organist (Hof-Organist) by the electoral Prince of Saxony in 1775.
